Excerpt
Excerpt: About bout this Study This study is an outgrowth of the Consortium for Policy Research in Education?s (CPRE) ongoing evaluation of the features and effects of the America?s Choice comprehensive school reform model. America?s Choice is developed and operated by the National Center on Education and the Economy. For this study, we have capitalized on our access to America?s Choice schools in order to examine how a handful of innovative schools are using a variety of student performance data to improve the instruction of teachers and the school organization?s support for instructional improvement. Through our research in these schools and characterization of their uses of student performance data, we have developed a theory of systematic school data use. More details about the America?s Choice model and CPRE?s evaluation efforts are provided at the end of this report.
